An Allotment

A new photobook reflecting life in London during lockdown: finding moments for optimism, calm and stability.

An Allotment is a photographic project by Hannah Blackmore and Jimmy Irwin, with profits made from the sale of the book going to The Trussell Trust network of foodbanks.

On March 31st, plotholders across the UK were allowed to return to their allotments. The land, arranged in neat grids, provided relief and escape to the plot holders whatever their circumstances. Allowing them to spend time outside, grow their own food and have something other than the lockdown to focus on.

he three allotments featured are located at the intersection of Peckham, Sydenham and Dulwich. They comprise of over 300 individual plots on Sydenham Hill, overlooking London.

The photobook of the series is now available through Kickstarter. With your support by pre-ordering copies of the book, along with other pledges, you will be supporting a very important cause and bringing a beautiful new publication to life.
