Cippa’s Drunkard Settlement – a walk through the history of Sydenham through its pubs.

This event has ended

Are you tired of the Zoom screen? Have you become curious about Sydenham’s history after your Lockdown walks? Do you want to rediscover your local area on a fun walk with friends and family?

Join local resident and professional London Blue Badge Tourist Guide, Sue Hyde The Guide, on a series of walks around our neighbourhood. Sue will unlock some of the stories of the people, buildings and events that have shaped Sydenham over the years. This first tour celebrates the re-opening of pubs after Lockdown with a leisurely walk through the history of Sydenham by following a line of drinking establishments past and present along Sydenham Road.

Pubs will not be entered as part of the walk, but why not support one of your local pubs and book a table outside for the end of the tour?

Meeting Place: Outside The Bell pub in Bell Green. Finish Point: The Foxes in Kirkdale.

Places available morning and afternoon Thursday 29th April. 10.30 – 12.00pm and 2.30 – 4.00pm. More information and booking on the Website:

£1 from every ticket will be donated to St. Christopher’s Hospice.

COVID-19 Note: To keep us all safe, the first few walks will be limited to a maximum of 6 made up of one household or people from different households socially distanced from each other. A bubble is one household.
