Lewisham council is currently assessing bids from groups who want to take over the management of four libraries in the borough – Sydenham, Grove Park, Crofton Park and New Cross – which are earmarked for closure. It has already been decided that Blackheath Library will be accommodated as part of the Age Exchange building in the centre of Blackheath village.
