Sydenham Film Club’s launch night – a runaway success

Sydenham Film Club’s first show – a showing of the superb 1957 Hollywood film musical Funny Face at the Golden Lion – was a huge success. Around 30 potential customers had to be turned away – a sign that augurs well for the future of the club.

The evening, introduced by Lewisham’s mayor Steve Bullock, went with a swing as around 65 locals packed into the back room of the pub to enjoy the film plus a raffle and film quiz.

Sydenham Film Club’s next venture is a pop-up screening of Monsoon Wedding booked for the 16th July @ Garam Masala restaurant in lower Sydenham as part of the Sydenham Arts Festival. Tickets for this event will go on sale from the 1st June – see the Arts Festival literature, website  and brochure for details.

Tickets for Garam Masala are sure to be at a premium – so make sure you book early!
