The Incredible Sax Band’s music is a mix of styles – mostly jazz, featuring improvised solos, ranging from traditional via funky to 30s style ‘light jazz’. They will be playing arranged pieces as well as compositions by band members and colleagues.

Andrew Motion, the Poet Laureate from 1999 to 2009, introduces his latest book Laurels and Donkeys, a collection of war poems presenting scenes from conflicts of the 20th & 21st centuries – from the First World War to the wars in Iraq andAfghanistan. They provoke both shock at what Wilfred Owen called ‘the pity of war’ and dismay at its recurrence.
