- Game has announced its flagship store on Oxford Street, London, will close early next month.
- Poundworld has opened its 200th store this week. The shop is located at the Newbury Retail Park, Berkshire and is the 44th Poundworldto open this year.
- Harvey’s Furniture has opened a new store in Cambridge today. The new branch is located at Newmarket Road’s Cambridge Retail Park.
- Fashion retailer Forever 21 has opened a new store at Bluewater this week. The new format store stocks its full range of womenswear, menswear and accessories.
- Tesco has announced plans for a new Tesco Extra in Bexleyheath. The new store will be opened on the former Bexleyheath Civil Office site.
- Julian Graves has confirmed its stores are now closed after administrators were unable to find a buyer. It was announced at the beginning of the month that the health food retailer had gone into administration. The remaining 189 stores were closed by 6th August.
- Fashion retailer Scotch & Soda has announced it will open its first two UK stores in London this autumn. One store will stock menswear and the other womenswear. The shops will open opposite each other at 170 and 181 Westbourne Grove.
- Mothercare will close its store in Stepney Street, Llanelli at the end of the month. It is expected to close a total of 110 stores across the UK. Johnson’s Cleaners also closed a branch on Stepney Street this week.
- Fashion retailer Jules B will open a new store in Yarm, Stockton-on Tees next month. It will be its second store in the town and will focus on luxury products contrasting to casualwear offered in its current store in Yarm. There are currently 8 Jules B Stores in the UK.
- French childrenswear retailer Jacadi has announced it will open its first UK store in London this October. The store will be located at 39 King’s Road, Chelsea.
