  • The Salvation Army opened a new shop this week in Dalkeith. The shop is located at12 High Street.
  • John Lewis has announced it will open a new store inChelmsford, Essex. The store will be its third flexible department store, following the opening of new format stores inExeter andYork.
  • Armani Exchange will open a new branch in Cardiff this October. The new store will open in St. David’s Shopping Centre and will be the fashion retailer’s first store in Wales.
  • Footwear retailer Kurt Geiger has announced it may  close up to five of its UK stores. The stores to close  will be based outside of London.
  • Sports Direct has announced a new store will open in Newry,Northern Ireland. The store will be located in the Quay’s Shopping Centre. There are currently 13 Sports Direct stores in Northern Ireland.
  • Menswear retailer CroJack  has announced it will  open its first store in October. The store will open in Monmouth Street, London.
  • Currys & PC World have announced a new store will open later this year in Aberdeen. The store will be located in the Bon Accord & St Nicolas Centre.
  • Patisserie Valerie is set to open a new store at London’s Heathrow Airport. The store will be a branch of its Baker & Spice brand and will  be located at Terminal Two.
  • Toy retailer The Entertainer has added three new shops to its store opening plan. 15 new shops are expected to open across theUK by the end of the year.
  • Morrisons has announced it will open another 15 M Local stores by the end of the year. There are currently 5 M Local stores in theUK.
  • Ann Summers is to introduce new   in-store technology, allowing shoppers to use mobile phone apps to scan clothing and superimpose over the shoppers picture to see themselves wearing the item.
  • Harvey Nichols this week introduced a BeautyMart concession in its Knightsbridge store. The conession offers a range of basic to luxury beauty products.
