Green Chain Mega Walk

Fancy a bit of a challenge? If so why not try this month’s Green Chain “Mega Walk” covering some amazing green spaces in Lewisham and beyond.

Ian Bull who is leading the walk said:

The further you go the better the landscape gets and tired feet will want to keep going! We’ll pass through miles of dense woodland and see wonderful views that extend right over the city out to the North Sea. Hundreds have taken part in this walk and every participant has come away delighted .Yes, it’s a little challenge but don’t let that put you off. The like minded company is always pleasant and the camaraderie see’s everyone through to the finish. There’s no charge and no need to book. A packed lunch is essential.

The mega walk is just one of countless events and activities that feature in this Autumn’s Green Chain “What’s-On” guide. The quarterly guide enables visitors to  see at a glance what is happening in and around the Green Chain- and  if you have kids it takes all the hassle out of planning what to do! .

Cllr Susan Wise, Lewisham Council’s Cabinet Member for Customer Services said:

Autumn is the perfect time of year to get out and about and to explore the beautiful surrounds and history we have here in the region – all of which is so easily accessible through the Green Chain Walk.. Weekends provide an ideal opportunity for families to discover more about their local area.
