After a long consultation period and discussion with transport partners the contract for the improvements to Sydenham Road and Station Approach has been let. Roundabout removed but painted min-roundabout will replace pro tem with rebuild in New Year. Traffic light controlled from 9.30 am – 7pm to assist with peak hour travel.
Xmas period – will concentrate on pocket parks and paving in Kirkdale area.
From Jan 15 Riney will complete kerb works. Resurfacing of main carriageway will be night-time may/June. Enquiries out to all utilities as when work is completed they cannot dig up Sydenham Road for 12 months, save in emergency.
Work on lights at Newlands Park will last 1-2 weeks – presumably similar for Mayow Road junction
Syd Station Approach is out for its third National Rail consultation – they “are doing it properly this time”!
