Green Chain Walk Events

The Green Chain Events calendar is packed with events for to take part in as the weather (finally!) begins to warm up after the long winter.

Cllr Susan Wise, Lewisham Council’s Cabinet Member for Customer Services said:

Spring is the perfect time of year to get out and about and to explore the beautiful surrounds and history we have here in the region ! All these are accessible through the Green Chain Walk.. Weekends provide an ideal opportunity for families to discover more about their local area.

The events listed below are just a very short selection of what’s on offer; for more information about individual events just click on to our “What’s On” page of our web site www.greenchain.com, or sign-up to our quarterly newsletter by emailing us at events@greenchain.com

  • The Green Chain is a connected mosaic of 300 parks and open spaces spreading from the Thames riverside, climbing up from the river over Shooters Hill and across to Dulwich Park. There is a network of 50 miles of footpaths that link these open spaces.
  • The Project is funded by the London Boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Royal Greenwich, Lewisham and Southwark.
  • There is a range of material about the Green Chain; a dedicated web site www.greenchain.com provides all the information visitors need to enjoy a day out on the Green Chain, including details of a route guide contains 11 full colour weatherproof maps for walking sections of the route.
