University of the Third Age

Join your local branch

In March, a meeting called to set up a local branch of the University of the Third Age attracted huge interest locally.

Since then the new branch has set up a wide range of more than 30 interest groups and activities stretching from Italian conversation, jazz history, political discussions to theatre and walk groups.

The vision of the U3A, founded in the UK in 1982, is to recognise older people as active citizens with expertise, talents and skills to share, through an organisation that they control themselves. U3A groups now flourish throughout the country, with high membership numbers.

If you are retired or semi-retired why not find out more? The next two local meetings of U3A are on 11 September from 2 – 4 pm at Herne Hill Baptist Church, Half Moon Lane SE24 9HU and on 6 October at 2 – 4 pm at the Carnegie Library 188 Herne Hill Rd SE24 0AG
