Sydenham switches on to Christmas

The lighting up of our two local Christmas trees in Sydenham saw hundreds of children and their parents enjoy a traditional start to the local festive season.
On Saturday 6 at Sydenham Library. Lewisham’s Mayor Sir Steve Bullock did the honours – and at the same time officially opened the new literary piazza at the front of the library which forms a new and attractive entrance to Home Park. The event was preceded by a children’s theatrical performance – This Elf’s Had Enough by Stickybeak Thetare.
On Saturday 13, it was the turn of Sydenham Road with a festive street market, an afternoon concert in the Sydenham Centre followed by a switch on of the lights with carols accompanied by St Philip Neri Brass Band.
