Christmas events on Saturday

Roll up, roll up, for a day of festive High Street Happenings this Saturday on Sydenham High Street where we’ll be full to bursting with events and entertainment to bring you good cheer!

The Christmas market on Venner Square opens at 11am with its arts and craft stalls selling a unique range of gifts, plus homemade cakes and hot Caribbean and Jamaican food cooked on the spot to keep you warm and toasty.

Just across the street at Here for Good, the Sydenham Pop-Up Shop will be holding its first Christmas Fair where you’ll find a fabulous array of artisan gifts and decorations, plus local children’s author Janet Killeen will be signing copies of her books about foxes, rabbits and cats. Doors open at 10am.

There’ll be live music throughout the day from Peter Caesar and there’s more entertainment at The Sydenham Centre from 3pm when you’re invited to an afternoon Tea Party to enjoy some foot tapping New Orleans jazz, as well as good old fashioned Music Hall song and dance.

And what better way to end the day than with some traditional Carol Singing at Queensthorpe Square where we’ll also be turning on the Christmas Tree lights. That starts at 5pm and word is that a very special man with a beard and his pet reindeer will also be there
– ho ho ho!
