Sydenham Film Club are proud to announce that Pedro Almodóvar’s dramatic masterpiece will be their first film screening of 2016.

The Oscar, Bafta, Golden Globe, BIFA, César and Cannes award winner (amongst others), follows the tragic journey of Manuela, a hard-working single mother who confronts her past and meets new people whilst in mourning for her heart-breaking loss.

Far from his often surreal and always wild comedies, yet with the same familiar trademarks of his individual cinematic world, in 1999 Almodóvar created his most mature (and, for many, his best) film, a melodrama about grief, friendship and undying love, with excellent performances from his cast, most of them familiar faces from his already established and much loved filmography. It is simply not to be missed!
