High Court hearing this week!
Thursday 9th June
Royal Courts of Justice
The long-running dispute with Lewisham Council over the massive redevelopment of open amenity space and the loss of much needed sheltered housing comes to a head this week.
FOMH are supporting a brave tenant on the City of London Estate to challenge Lewisham Council in Court for a second time.
On Thurs 9th June, High Court Judge Justice Fordham will listen to arguments put forward by both sides and then decide whether or not to grant a Judicial Review into how Lewisham Council handled its latest grant of planning permission for the development. If the Judge decides to allow a Judicial Review, he’ll proceed straight to hear the case. This is called a “rolled up” hearing.
We have a very strong case.
FOMH are seeking the remaining funds via Crowd Justice funding to help cover the tenant’s costs and liabilities. If you had thought of making a donation but had never got round to it, now is your chance!
The loss of green space on the site itself has been included on a concerned report by the Countryside Charity for London.

The unchanged plans mean urbanisation of an environmentally sensitive area. This case is important because it would be a precedent for allowing other similar developments and change the face of Sydenham forever — not to mention the impact on local infrastructure.
