Sydenham Garden

Sydenham Garden is continuing to provide therapeutic gardening and creative opportunities for people recovering from ill-health and people experiencing dementia. This spring we’re very happy to see so many people back in our gardens and benefiting from nature, being outdoors and a sense of community and belonging after the challenges of the pandemic.

Our gardens on Wynell Road and De Frene Road are looking lovely thanks to the hard work of our co-workers, volunteers and project teams, and we’re looking forward to welcoming visitors back to our events this year.

Please do visit us for these events:

  • Summer Plant Sale at Resource Centre on Wynell Road 10am – 2.30pm on Saturday 18 June
  • De Frene Summer Festival 12pm – 5pm Saturday 20 August
  • Sydenham Artists Trail at Resource Centre on Wynell Road on Saturday 3 September, times tbc.
  • Refreshments and tours of the gardens will be available at our events.

We have now launched our Flower Farm – Sydenham Garden Flowers www.sydenhamgardenflowers.com We’re running this as a social enterprise with all profits supporting our charitable aims. We’re currently supplying local florists with seasonal, locally produced, sustainable, ethical, and environmentally friendly flowers every week and we’ll be supplying a limited number of bouquets directly to customers by September. The Flower Farm gives our co-workers a chance to learn a range of transferable skills and is enabling us to provide employment opportunities for people experiencing barriers to work due to mental ill-health.

Volunteer with us

We welcome new volunteers and have a variety of opportunities. We are currently recruiting for volunteer Trustee roles, admin roles and project delivery roles, working alongside our co-workers in our gardens and resource centre. Please visit our website www.sydenhamgarden.org.uk for more information on opportunities, our work and to subscribe to our mailing list.
