Friends of Mais House working to save Sydenham Hill Ridge

The High Court failed to quash Lewisham’s latest grant of Planning Permission for the grossly oversized development on the City of London land on Sydenham Hill. But The Friends Fight On and, following legal advice that there is a strong case, an Appeal has been filed at the Court of Appeal. Thanks to enormous community support we are half-way to the estimated cost of the Appeal application.

But we still need to raise a further £2500 in the next few weeks.
Please help us to get there by donating.

Planning-Gate

In a shock development, Lewisham said in court that it does not read any emails that have been cc’d to its Planning Department’s advertised address.

Grounds for Appeal:

  1. Viability:
That it wasn’t shown that the plan is the least harmful that could be viable on the Estate.
  2. London Wildlife Trust (LWT) letter:
It recently came to our attention that the London Wildlife Trust had had serious concerns about the application. Although LWT had recorded on Lewisham’s online comments system that they had emailed a letter to Lewisham Planning, that email was not read by Planning, and so not taken into account or its existence made known to the Planning Committees.
