ULEZ expansion in August 2023

From the 29th August 2023 London’s ULEZ scheme will be expanded for a second time taking it from inside the North and South Circular roads to include all 33 London boroughs.

Currently, all local car owners in the Sydenham area are exempt from ULEZ jurisdiction providing they don’t head north of the South Circular.

The changes mean that owners of vehicles that do not meet the ULEZ emissions standards, typically older vehicles, must pay a daily fee of £12.50 to drive within the zone. This includes cars, motorcycles, vans, specialist vehicles, and minibuses. Drivers who opt not to pay the charge face a fine of £160.
