A safer, more usable junction at Woolstone, Cranston and Houston Roads

The junction at Houston, Woolstone and Cranston Roads is poorly designed for the volume of vehicles and pedestrians using it. It feels unsafe and difficult to navigate at a time when making journeys on foot or by other active means needs to be prioritised and encouraged. The council has installed school streets, which encourage people to walk to school, but not improved safe routes to school. This junction which cuts through a residential area prioritises vehicles over local people.

We urge the local authority to take action now by installing safe crossings at the junction of Woolstone, Cranston and Houston Roads. This will help ensure that pedestrians can cross safely without fear of being hit by cars, or shouted at by angry drivers.
