Friends of Home Park

Friends of Home Park (FOHP) are a group of volunteer local residents with a common aim to protect and improve Home Park.

We are aiming to create a safer, cleaner, and more inclusive park for the benefit of the community. Since our inception in 2020, we’ve held litter picks, gardening working bees, and successfully bid for several funds for park improvements.

We want to see less dog fouling, less littering, and less anti-social behaviour in the park. Why not join the committee? No matter how much or little time you can spare to volunteer, please get in touch. We are always looking for extra hands, fresh energy, and new ideas.

Please sign up to be a Friend of Home Park! By becoming a Friend for just £5 per year, you’ll help fund park improvements, be updated about planned park developments and community events, earn voting rights at committee meetings, and have the chance to join the committee. Visit www.homepark.wordpress.com for more information. Do you have some spare bulbs or plants? We’ve been slowly improving planting in the park through our ‘working bees’. If you’re willing to donate propagations of evergreen shrubs or spring bulbs from your own gardens, we’d love these to help make the park more beautiful!

We need your help. Please join the Friends Group to make Home Park an even better place to relax and enjoy.

Funding update

We are so pleased to confirm that Home Park will soon see the following installed, thanks to our successful bid for the Lewisham Council Greening Fund:

  • 3 x wheelchair accessible picnic tables
  • 1 children’s picnic table
  • 1 drinking water fountain
  • 5 x fox-proof litter bins
  • Planting for 1 small orchard

Work on the above has begun and will be delivered by the start of summer 2023.

We are awaiting further details of the new trim trail that will be built thanks to our successful Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy (NCIL) bid. We will share opportunities for community engagement with our members.
