The Capitol pub in Forest Hill to close
JD Wetherspoons, owners of The Capitol in Forest Hill, have announced the iconic pub will shortly be closing. Wetherspoons have been looking for a new owner for some years and it’s unclear what the future fate of the pub will be at this stage or whether it has been sold. The pub built in 1928-9 was originally a cinema and is listed as Grade II – which means its architectural features are statutorily protected.
