Eco Computers to run Sydenham Library

An officer’s report to Lewisham’s Mayor & Cabinet meeting on the 11th May recommends that Deptford-based Eco Computers take over the running of Sydenham Library at the end of May. Eco Computers will also run the libraries at Crofton Park and Grove Park. At New Cross Library, the report recommends that LBL enters into negotiations with Lewisham Homes, the current landlord of the building to see if they can work with new tenants to secure a long-term community use for the building. 

Four organistaion were in the bidding to take over Lewisham’s threatened libraries and their bids were judged by a panel of Lewisham officers. The officers awarded marks for each organisation as follows:

Eco Computer Systems 61%

Family Services UK    30%

New Testament Church of God 30%
