Billings opens new butchers department
One of Sydenham’s most exciting independent shops has today (Wednesday June 29) opened the doors on its new butchers department. The rear of the existing shop has been opened up and transformed into a sparkling food hall selling a wide range of high-quality produce from fresh lamb, pork and poultry to cooked meats. Where possible, all meat will be free-range and sourced entirely from the British Isles – with an emphasis on English and Scottish suppliers. Free-range beef will be supplied by a farm in Devon – and will be in the shop shortly. This weekend fresh poultry will be available.
The investment by the owners of Billings represents a major vote of confidence in Sydenham Road and an indication that stores selling good quality products can succeed on the high street.
