Join the Summer Reading Challenge for Kids at Sydenham Library now!
An estimated 760,000 children are currently taking part in Circus Stars, the Summer Reading Challenge in libraries, coordinated by The Reading Agency. It runs in Sydenham Library throughout the summer holidays, with incentives, activities and events designed to create a real buzz around children’s reading. The challenge is simple – to read six or more library books over the summer. www.summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/
You can pop-in to Sydenham Library at any time – see opening times below. But the main Summer reading activities are as follows:
Tuesday August 2, 2-4pm Make your own pop-up cards.
Tuesday August 9, 2-4pm Make clown Masks and Face Painting
Thursday August 18, 2-4pm Shoe Box Circus (Bring your own shoe box)
Tuesday August 23 Make your own Ribbon Stick 10am-12pm (4-7 year olds) and 2-4pm (8-11 year olds)
Tuesday August 30, 2-4pm Speed Stack Cup Challenge
