Cinemas of south-east London

7.45pm Tuesday November 8 at the Golden Lion, Sydenham Road. Admission £2.

An illustrated talk by local historian Steve  will take us into the eight or more cinemas and performance spaces that were once licensed for public entertainment in Sydenham and Forest Hill. In these spaces we will also meet amateur dramatics groups and actors, both stage and screen, all of whom had strong links with the local area.

This is repeat of Steve’s sell-out talk at the Kirkdale Bookshop during the 2011 Sydenham Arts Festival and will give those who were unable to get tickets for that event, to hear this talk again.
