Greyhound developer given final warning
Rebuild the Greyhound Pub Campaign
Greyhound developer given final warning
Five members of the Rebuild the Greyhound Pub core campaign group met Lewisham’s Chief Executive, Barry Quirk, and John Miller, Head of Planning on Wednesday October 8th. Barry Quirk was anxious to reassure us that getting the Greyhound rebuilt was a key priority for the Council.
He informed us that a legal letter had been sent to Purelake stating that the Council will consider taking enforcement action if Purelake fail to respond within 14 days, stating their intention to return to the site. It was agreed that members and senior officers would maintain contact with the Sydenham Society.
I’d ask Purelake to seriously consider returning to the site as soon as possible to complete the work in order to avoid lengthy and costly legal action. The core campaign group are willing to talk to Purelake at any time in order to put them in touch with pub groups who we know are interested in running the Greyhound.
The next key event is the Mayor & Cabinet meeting on 22nd October, where an update and report will be presented by officers.
But we must not hold back on our continuing campaign:
