New artists’ studios and cafe to open in Forest Hill

Canvas & Cream – an exciting new gallery and cafe at 18 London Road SE23 3HF – has its launch weekend on 17-19th February.

Joanna, Emily and Paul have got together with friends and family from their local neighborhood to develop this collaborative project. Canvas & Cream comprises of an artists-designed Up-Cycled Restaurant/ dining room and a dedicated Gallery/Project space with art workshop and creative events program. There are seven artist/artisan studios at the rear adjoining Havelock Walk, which is an established studio/live/work street. There is also an alternative therapy room where various therapists offer a wide variety of therapies including Reiki, Massage, Osteopathy, Core Process, Laughing therapy, Acupuncture etc.

LAUNCH WEEKEND
17th February – 6-9pm Private Viewing of the exhibition (Invite only) friends, family, volunteers and Canvas & Cream members – (visit their website http://www.canvasandcream.com/ to become a member and get an invite).

18th & 19th – Open to the public – The Dining room/Restaurant, Gallery, the studios and healing room will all be open to the public for the first time. Come and have a nose around at what they have been doing. After the 19th the studios will be private and healing room only open to therapists customers. There will be Art ‘Taster’ workshops and information showing you what will be on offer. Therapists will be there to talk to you and show you their wares…

On Sunday evening the 19th C&C finish off with a one-time-only Dinner and film night. A set menu of two courses followed by a full screening of Garbage Warrior an inspirational true story of maverick US architect Michael Reynolds and his fight to introduce radically sustainable housing.
