Dr Kimberly Hawkins is an expert on the history and performance of negro spirituals and has lectured on the subject in schools and colleges throughout the USA.

Formerly a professional musical theatre and opera performer, Dr Hawkins will intersperse her lecture with renditions of popular spirtuals including Wade in the Water, Ride on King Jesus and He’s Got the Whole World.
