Juliet Welchman was principal cello with the Irish Chamber Orchestra for nine years, performing regularly as both soloist and chamber musician. She has been principal cellist with Scottish Opera and now freelances with The Academy of St Martin in the Fields, Britten Sinfonia and Manchester Camerata. She has played guest principal cello with Opera North, The Hallé, Britten Sinfonia and Manchester Camerata.
